Blue mauve Jacarandas are reflected in the turquoise waters of the dam. Boat houses line the narrow beach strip of white sand, people gather by them before going for a sail. Crimson Bougainvillea is reflected in the water too and terraces lined with houses have been dug out of the mountain slope. This would be a good card to send to someone living there and is bright and joyful, especially for a sailor.

I was born in 1941 in the Orkney Islands north of Scotland where my father was stationed in the air force. My mother was an artist and I spent my childhood years in North Wales with my maternal grandmother until the war was over when I was reunited with my mother in London. In my twenties I studied painting at the Heatherley School in Pimlico, London, with Helen Wilson, Carl Cheek and David Ufland.
