The landscape and still life artist Elinor Carleton-Smith will be exhibiting her oils, with other artists, at the Broadway Gallery, 473 Broadway, 7th floor, in the Soho district of New York ,USA in August this year.
Living in Cape Town, South Africa she tells me this will be her first showing in the States and she is excited about it. She trained in the UK in the 1960's and has since sold many paintings internationally and exhibited in Europe and South Africa. Her style is impressionistic but she also appreciates abstract painting because as she says, "with me it's all about colour and tone".
The exhibition is called ' Artists at Home and Abroad' and will be well worth your visiting. Phone the gallery on 212.274.8993 to check opening times of 10.0am to 6.0pm . At present they are 8-31August and the reception with wine is on the 9th August from 6.0pm to 8.0pm.
