An elderly woman of Burano walks along the stone paved street.of this island close to Venice and famous for its lace making. Black cats wait for mice to run out from an old house. A crumbling pink stuccoed house glows in the morning sun. An old man walks away from us down an alley to the left, towards a green and brown painted house with terracotta roof tiles in the further cross street.
